Tuina

Tuina, a Chinese hands-on tradition

Pressing, kneading, rolling and gentle stretching, done through your clothes. A good fit for anyone who spends the day on their feet or at a counter.

Amie works at a steady, unhurried pace and checks the pressure often. You stay in loose clothing, and a blanket covers what you would like covered. Sessions run from 20 to 90 minutes.

  • Seated or on the table

  • Through loose clothing, no oil

  • Pressure set by you, changed any time

In the session

What happens, step by step

  1. 01

    Step 1: Check in

We ask about pressure and any spot to leave alone, and show you where to sit or lie.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Work in

Slow rolling and kneading to see how you like it, then firmer pressing along the neck, shoulders, back and arms, or the legs in a longer session.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Stretch

A few gentle stretches, only as far as you say.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Rest

A minute to sit up slowly before you get dressed or stand.

Before you book

Pressure, clothing and who should ask first

  • Pressure

We ask before we start and check again in the middle. Lighter or firmer, just say.

  • What to wear

Loose clothing with sleeves you can push up. A blanket is there if you want one.

  • Who should ask first

If you are pregnant or recovering from surgery, ask your doctor or midwife before booking. We do not diagnose.

  • Your call

You can pause, change position or end the session at any time. We stop right away.
