Questions about tuina and reflexology
How long is a session?
From 20 minutes to 90. Many people start with a short one and book longer once they know what they like.
What do I wear?
Whatever you wore to work. Tuina is done through loose clothing, and for reflexology only your shoes and socks come off. A towel and a blanket cover what you want covered.
Am I covered the whole time?
Yes. A blanket or towel covers whatever you would like covered, and nothing beyond your shoes and socks is ever uncovered.
Can I stop?
Yes, at any time and for any reason. You can pause, change position or end the session, and we stop right away.
How do I set the pressure?
Before we start we ask how firm you like it and whether any spot should be left alone. Tell us at any time to go lighter or firmer.
Can I walk in?
Yes for the 20- and 30-minute sessions, Tuesday to Sunday, whenever a therapist is available. Book ahead for 45 minutes and longer.
What is tuina?
Tuina is a Chinese hands-on tradition. We press, knead, roll and gently stretch, through loose clothing, at a pressure you choose.
Does reflexology treat anything?
No. Reflexology is a hands-on tradition: steady pressure on the feet and hands, in a set order. We don't diagnose, and we don't say a spot on your foot belongs to an organ that needs care. If something worries you, ask your doctor.
What if I am ill or pregnant?
If you are unwell, tell us and we will move your visit. If you are pregnant, ask your doctor or midwife before booking and tell your therapist how far along you are.
How often should I come?
As often as suits you. Some people come after every long week, some once a month. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm after your first visit.
Should I tip?
Tipping is optional. You can add it when you pay at the desk or when you book.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give us 24 hours to move or cancel a booked session. If you are ill, tell us and we will move it.
How does pricing work?
The price is set by the length and kind of session. The booking page shows it before you confirm.
Which languages do you speak?
Amie speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Kasey speaks English.
